PROPOSED SOLUTIONS AND THEIR
ESTIMATED EXPENSES
The proposed solutions and
their estimates are prioritized based on the urgency of the items repair
or replacement; in on our professional opinion. Therefore those items as
listed first require immediate attention then so-for. At the end of each
section we have enclosed estimates and manufacture literature /
supportive material for review.
2.1 Fire
Protection / Building Code Review:
The present building was
constructed compliant to the New York state Building Code before it was
revamped in January of 2003. However with the increase in use of the
“Bunkrooms” and the increase in the number of members spending
overnights in the building – the need for sprinkler protection has
become more of a priority.
2.2 Second
Floor Bathroom:
As noted from the “Squatter
Session “ summary form as distributed to the members of the Ballston
Lake Emergency Medical Squad; bathroom at the second floor off the
Lobby/ Vestibule Area and adjacent to the Bunkrooms was a large
concern. Also – due to the inherit relationship conflict leaving the
Bunkrooms at the second floor to gain access to Bathroom facilities at
the first floor was an issue as well.
2.3
Additional Storage:
Based on the “Squatter Session”
comment forms and on our meetings with some of the membership we were
able to determine area’s/ spaces where additional storage could be
accommodated. We also reviewed and studied spaces and their uses to
find more efficient space planning layouts for existing rooms/ spaces.
These are itemized in drawings following with their respective costs.
2.4 Exercise / Office Space Relocation:
The second floor spaces –
currently one under utilized and in our judgment offer some
opportunities to maximize space
constraints, which are occurring at the first floor.
Shifting all the Office use
functions to the second floor – frees up space at the first floor
which can be reconfigured for
other important needs at this level. Changing the current
storage closet at the first
floor allows a computer station/ small office function to still
occur at the main level –
this allows the membership to
meet ADA (Handicap)
requirements of Office function
at the main floor and allows the separation of general
internet/ office use from the
more secure office/ business functions at the second floor.
